Discussion Group on Rosa Luxemburg’s Reform or Revolution -- Part 2

How can we win reform? What is the relationship between the fight for reforms and political and social revolution? Can we gradually reform the system through elections? Or must the state be overthrown and replaced by a new workers government? What is the role of co-ops in the struggle for reform and revolution?

Join us to discuss these questions and Rosa Luxemburg’s classic pamphlet Reform or Revolution. It will be introduced by Prof Helen Scott, who is the author of The Essential Rosa Luxemburg and an editor of Verso’s The Collected Works of Rosa Luxemburg.

We will discuss part one of the pamphlet available here in the first session and the rest on the second session. Read the “Introduction" through "The Consequences of Social Reformism and the General Nature of Reformism” for the first session.

To learn more about Luxemburg’s life and work watch these two videos with Spectre's Editor David McNally—part one and part two. Also here is a podcast by Dissent's Managing Editor, Flynn Murray, about Reform and Revolution
